Geese and Ducks will be process by me here on the farm and be ready to pickup the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving along with the Turkeys and can be used right away or wrapped a little better and frozen til Christmas.
Because of the large amount of feathers and hard to pluck nature of waterfowl there will be a noticeable amount of pin feathers left in the skin , sorry.
The weights of the geese and ducks won't be known until they are processed but will probably range from 8 to 12 pounds for geese, 6 to 9 for ducks.

Geese and ducks along with lambs are my favorite livestock to raise for meat.
Since they can sustain themselves totally on our grass pasture and hay grain feeds are not required. Since they do not consume grain as their main feed their meats will have omega 3s and just plain be healthier to eat overall.

Goose Eggs
Goose eggs for food and fun
Wash the egg. Make a hole on either end of the egg. With a skewer whisk up the egg inside. Blow in one end of the egg shell to make the whisked egg come out the other, into a bowl. Make scrambled eggs or use it for baking. Wash the shell, dry and decorate for Easter. I will get one or 2 a day for the next week or 2 before I need to let the geese sit and hatch some. If you are interested in fresh goose eggs for food or crafts give me an email. Goose eggs will be $2.00 each.
Sorry no more eggs for 2012

Buy a grown goose
I usually have full grown geese all year long. If you would like to take your goose to be processed elsewhere or you are interested in having geese as pasture pets or breeders just give me an email, live geese are priced below and must be picked up at the farm.

Embden and Embden crossbreeds
Nice big Geese. Males, females, this years young birds and last years breeders.
Embden are raised for their high quality meat, liver, eggs, fat and feathers, but just like all geese are also good lawn mowers. Geese are easier to raise than chickens and turkeys.
They eat grass and weeds and do not need a special poultry diet to grow nice and meatie. As long as there is plenty of grass to graze they will do just fine from day one.
As a meat bird they probably weigh 12 to 15 pounds, processing will be up to you. These birds are not hand tame but they are not angry, aggressive birds either.

Geese must be picked up at the farm, live. $35.00 each
